Neighbourhood Development Plan
New Homes in Marsh Gibbon
The Parish Council would like to know your views on the draft Neighbourhood Plan which can be accessed from the link below.
We want to determine the future development of new homes in the village; and ways to protect the village against inappropriate development. This follows the consultation a year ago when people said the village should grow by four new homes per year on average for the next 20 years.
You are invited to come to a public meeting in the Village Hall on Friday October 25th at 7.30 pm to express your views. There will be a presentation on the draft Plan, followed by a question and answer session and an opportunity to let us know your thoughts on these five key issues and any others in the Plan:
1. Should the new homes be phased evenly or in a few larger developments?
2. The type, mix and size/cost of new homes: who should they be for?
3. Where to discourage development?
4. Whether we should designate two Local Green Spaces: Swan Field and Moat Close?
5. Potential development sites in the village.
If you can’t attend the meeting you can view the plan and complete our questionnaire on line here. The deadline for response is October 31.
Once the draft Plan is finalised it will be published by the end of the year for a formal six week consultation period, followed by examination by an independent inspector. Then it will be put to the village for approval in a referendum next Spring. Once adopted the Plan will then have a legal status that means that Aylesbury Vale District Council as the local planning authority will abide by the Plan policies when determining planning applications in the village in future.
We look forward to seeing you at the meeting and to answering any questions you may have about the Plan.
